Twelve acts are tuning up for the live semi-final of this year’s Twisted Melon Battle Of The Bands.
It’s on being aired on Friday (8th) from 7pm on KL.FM in a show hosted by Triston Finnis of Twisted Melon and Rose Newdick from Festival Too.
Triston said: “After eight heats across various venues in King’s Lynn, Downham Market, Watlington and Terrington St Clement we are now down to 12 acts.
“Our pool of judges including Festival Too’s Rose Newdick, experienced musicians Paul Heath and Tristan Long, music journalist Jon Seymour, KL.FM’s Charles Dennett as well as Philip Pearson of last year’s winning act Addison’s Uncle put through 11 acts.”
One further ‘wildcard’ act was chosen by Twisted Melon as the best runner-up from all eight heats and that act was Stretch Soul Gang from Heat 2.
These acts now showcase a chosen track plus their own one-minute promo to promote themselves.
At the end of the show voting goes live and you can cast your vote by heading to the KL.FM website and clicking on Battle Of The Bands. Once there you can also listen to all the bands’ tracks and promos.
Voting closes on Monday at 7pm and the top three acts will go through to the final. The judges then vote a further three acts through to give six in the final.
The results will be exclusively revealed on the Simon Rowe Breakfast show on Tuesday along with a special announcement about this year’s final.
This year’s winner and runner-up will both perform at Festival Too playing on the first and final Saturdays. The winner also receives a photo shoot, band merch as well as recording time with Capsize Audio Productions.
Friday’s dozen acts are: Aria’s Echo, Falling from Trees, Fazed, Finding Ana, Jay Harrison, Kingdom Keys, Morganway, On the Level, Stretch Soul Gang, The B Sides, The Thinking Men and Thomas Bainbridge.
