Police launched a search for a motorcyclist around Bawsey during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Ambulance crews reported finding headlights and a front mud guard from a motorbike on the B1145 at 2.15am.
Police, ambulance and fire crews conducted a search around the area and closed the road at 2.30am.
The search was called off at 3.30am after finding no signs of a rider or the bike.
Officers returned to the scene on Saturday morning to conduct a daylight search for the rider but again nothing was found.
Earlier, at 2am a motorist reported a loose black horse along the B1145 close to Leziate.
The horse was later found and returned to its field at 2.20am.
It was not hurt.
