At a glittering ceremony at the London Hilton Hotel, the Jolly Sailors, at Brancaster Staithe, was awarded the title of UK Best Family Pub 2015 last night (Thursday).
The Jolly Sailors is part of the family run group ACInns (www.acinns.co.uk). The award was presented by comedian and actor Sean Lock.
Howard Nye, operations Ddirector ACInns, said: “It is a huge honour for the Jolly Sailors to win this national award UK Best Family Pub 2015 having held the regional award for the Best Family Pub for East Anglia and East Midlands for the past three years. The award has recognised that the Jolly Sailors has best capitalised on the family market and we are absolutely thrilled. The team has produced a winning formula at the Jolly Sailors through their diligence and hard rk in recognising what families want from a community pub. Absolutely fabulous that we are putting north Norfolk on the map again.”
John Turner, assistant general manager at the pub, said: “I was lucky enough to pick up the award on behalf of the Jolly Sailors team. The competition was fierce so we are especially delighted with this award and the ‘Jolly Team’ is all over the moon to be recognised nationally as the UK’s favourite family pub.
