A table top sale was held at Brancaster Staithe’s village hall on Saturday to support a charity that gives troubled youngsters a break in the Norfolk countryside.

The event was the first of the year to be held in support of A Change of Scene for Children and was packed with stalls selling a host of goods.

The tables were manned by supporters and friends of the charity.

The organisation, which was set up three years ago, gives children with problems at home or at school, and their siblings, a chance to escape for a short break.

Organiser Pauline Daisley-Brown, pictured above with stallholder Venetia Joyce, said: “We help anyone who needs a change of scene. We give children the chance to look after rescued animals in the fresh air.”

Future planned events include a Sausage Sizzle on May Day, a Dog Show in early August and a Harvest Moon Festival on September 3, all in Burnham Thorpe.
