A Norfolk County Council committee has today, Tuesday, May 20, called for the site of the controversial Lynn incinerator plan to be sold to West Norfolk Council.

The recommendation was passed by nine votes to three by members of the county council’s cabinet scrutiny committee at a meeting in Norwich earlier today.

The vote followed a call-in made by West Norfolk representatives Brian Long, who is also deputy leader of the borough council, John Dobson and Jason Law, calling for a review of the decision.

The issue will now be debated by the authority’s ruling cabinet at its final meeting tomorrow, before the council reverts to a committee system.
