An investigation has been launched after a laser was shone at a Tornado fighter plane as its crew were preparing to land at RAF Marham.
Police say the incident happened at around 10pm on Tuesday when a green laser was shone at the aircraft as it flew over the West Lynn area.
The plane’s navigator had to be checked by medical crews after the plane landed.
West Norfolk policing commander, Supt Dennis Lacey, said a short time ago: “It’s extremely fortunate that no one was injured during this incident, which could have easily ended very differently.
“People need to be reminded that these items are not toys and using them in this manner could have serious consequences.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident that evening or has any information regarding it.”
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police on 101.
