A man has been airlifted to hospital after being found on the edge of the A47 in Lynn this afternoon, Tuesday, March 3.

Emergency crews were called to the area at around 1.15pm following reports that a man was lying on the edge of the road near the Saddlebow roundabout.

There have been reports that he may have jumped from the flyover, though these have not been confirmed. Officials from the Norfolk Accident Rescue Service (NARS) said they had been told a man in his 70s had fallen from the bridge.

What is known is that both the road and the flyover from the roundabout were closed while the man was treated.

Police said the man was initially airlifted to Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital before being transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

The roads were re-opened at around 2.10pm.
