The daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Charlotte, will be christened in West Norfolk next month, it has been announced this morning.

A post on the official Kensington Palace Twitter account said: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to announce the christening of Princess Charlotte will take place on Sunday 5th July.”

The service will take place at Sandringham’s St Mary Magdalene Church and will be led by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.

Princess Charlotte, who was born last month, is currently fourth in line to the throne. The family has now made its home at Anmer Hall on the royal estate.
