An elderly villager in Little Fransham, fell prey to a burglary on Saturday evening.
The front door of the property in Spicers Corner was forced, waking the person inside. One of the four men thought to have been involved then told the resident that they were from the water board.
The men carried out an untidy search of the address, stealing a significant amount of cash and items of jewellery before leaving. The victim was not injured but was left shaken.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or noticed anything unusual – people or vehicles – in the area around 6pm.
Witnesses should contact Det Con Dan Rayner at Thetford CID on 101 (cost 15p) or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
