2,000 companies get help in Link's first year
BUSINESS Link East is celebrating its first birthday with news that it has helped more than 2,000 companies in the Lynn area.
The organisation provides business support services and has had a busy year in West Norfolk since launching its East Anglian branch in 2007.
In Lynn and West Norfolk, the number of established businesses helped by its advisers totalled 1,342. A total of 73 start-up businesses were supported and pre-start advice was given to 631 businesses.
Praise for Business Link has come from one of West Norfolk's fastest-growing ventures, OutSec, of Stradsett, the UK's largest on-line transcription service.
OutSec's managing director, Vanessa Phillips, said she had read about Business Link and it seemed logical to contact them when she first started her business several years ago.
"Their advisers have been with us every step of the way and we will turn to Business Link whenever we need sound advice," said Mrs Phillips.
Business Link adviser Mr Peter Mulhall said one of the ways he was able to support OutSec was by helping the company secure a grant towards a key software development.
The move proved vital towards maintaining OutSec's market leadership.
