THE Going Places branch in Lynn High Street, has become part of Anglia Co-operative’s travel business.

The move was completed at the end of January and all five members of staff – Emma Wenham, Maxine Saunders, Toni Huntingford, Kimberlee Rhodes and Laura Bone - who are already familiar faces to Lynn holidaymakers, will transfer over to the Peterborough-based retail co-operative. The branch will be re-branded The Co-operative Travel.

Anglia Co-operative has also taken on new travel branches in Thetford and Cromer bringing the total in its stable to fifteen.

Group specialist retail manager Paul Dale said: “The acquisition of the three new branches means we are now potentially East Anglia’s largest independent travel group and they enhance our operations in small to medium-sized towns.

“Our existing King’s Lynn business, located within the Beales department store, will transfer into the new branch at 17 High Street and the two remaining staff there – Avril Townsend and Vikki Fitch – will relocate to our Wisbech branch. “Having recently signed an agency agreement with Freedom Travel Group, we are now able to offer even greater choice to holiday-makers in the Lynn area, working with even more travel operators – with the benefit of accruing dividend points for our members.”
