Freebridge Community Housing yesterday announced that Lovell has been selected as its main contractor for the £25m regeneration of Lynn’s 1960s Hillington Square complex.
The housing regeneration specialist was chosen after a European tendering process and from an initial 13 companies which showed an interest in the project.
Plans for the revamp were developed by Freebridge, in conjunction with project designer Wayne Hemingway and architects mae, following consultations with residents.
Although Lovell is a national company, its local project manager will be Michael Saunders, from Southery. Work on site is expected to start this summer.
Freebridge chief executive Tony Hall said: “We have an extremely talented team working on the regeneration of Hillington Square, and with the appointment of Lovell we are bringing further skills, experience and knowledge into the team.”
Lovell regional director Tony Tann said the company wanted to build upon the vision and hard work already put in.
