Launch of Lynn photography business

Tracey Robinson

AWARD-WINNING photographer, Tracey Robinson, has turned her hobby into a business venture which she hopes will help others to share her passion for life through a lens.

She has called her company Red Fish and her plans include workshops in basic photography, talks to clubs and events, portraiture and one-to-one tuition.

Tracey, who lives at Hulton Road, Lynn, started taking her photography seriously about four years ago, prompted by a health condition called hypermobility syndrome which caused ligament damage and forced her to give up her active lifestyle.

“I had to find a hobby which worked with my illness and not against it and photography was it,” she explained.

“It has made me feel better as a person and helped me to look at the world as a wonderful place rather than getting upset and angry because I cannot always do what I want to do.”

She joined Lynn Camera Club in 2008 and was elected as its first female chairman in 2010, but stood down earlier this year to concentrate on her business.

She has been a regular winner in the club competitions and her work has been published in various global magazines and on websites. One highlight was when she beat more than 1,600 other entries to win a Fujifilm on-line competition.

Her one-day workshops will be for a maximum of 15 people each time and are aimed at those wanting to learn basic techniques and find out how to take a better picture. She has one booked for Thursday, September 29 at Hunstanton Methodist Church,

The talks will follow a similar theme and the one-to-one tuition will encourage those who need help, especially on location, to look more closely at angles, perspective and close-ups.

The portrait photography, which is a favourite with Tracey, can be in a studio environment or on location; and she will also offer a service restoring old or damaged photographs.
