SWAFFHAM: Florists set up e-business

Business is blossoming for two sisters who have taken their floristry trade to a new level.

Michelle Boon-Harris and Megan Boon, who run Swaffham Florist Ltd, have set up a new business, The Norfolk Florist, which provides an online service for ordering floral gifts. Their family business also includes the Fakenham Florist Ltd.

“With the backing of two shops located in Norfolk we can ensure high quality and excellent service,” said Megan.

“We personally deliver throughout West and North Norfolk but have other florists we work with throughout the country.”

There are four main collections available through the online service – The Country Collection where experienced florists will design a beautiful bouquet with the best flowers of the day’s delivery; The Broads Collection, which includes a selection of stylish products for all occasions; The Royal Collection with a range of luxurious designs; and the funeral and sympathy Collection, offering a range of tasteful tributes.

In addition there are seasonal collections for special days, such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas.

“We decided to venture into e-business because we feel this is the only way forward in business. We both have degrees and with the lack of jobs available and large businesses feeling the pinch of e-business taking over and closing down their high street shops, we chose to take the plunge and create The Norfolk Florist,” said Megan.

“Having that online service means we are able to be open 24 hours a day, which hopefully will help our busy customers. We also want to offer a high-quality online florist which is tasteful, stylish and straight to the florist so the customer gets full value rather than ordering through a large global service.
