Lynn’s Foster Refrigerator has added to its collection of environmental accolades, scooping a top industry award for its work to reduce carbon emissions.
It has received the prestigious RAC Cooling Award for Low Carbon Achievement, in recognition of its work to reduce carbon in commercial refrigeration manufacturing.
Foster was presented with the award in a ceremony in London last week, among 700 professionals in the refrigeration and cooling sector, acknowledging the company’s continued successes in carbon reduction throughout their manufacturing process, and specifically in relation to the launch of Foster’s new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report, and the multi-award winning Eco Pro G2 product range.
Ashley Sword, sales director at Foster accepted the award at the Park Lane ceremony, and said: “Foster’s philosophy is all about responsible manufacturing through the whole production process, and we are constantly looking at how we can improve how we work, to ensure we are as environmentally friendly as possible, so we are overjoyed to have won this award in recognition of that.”
Andrew Gaved, editor of RAC congratulated all 2013 finalists and said: “Once again the industry has shown great imagination and ingenuity with some great technology, projects and initiatives. With advances in natural refrigeration, heat recovery and smart grid technology, to name but three, it seems clear that whichever direction the policymakers next, the cooling industry will once again be well placed to respond.”
