Heacham slimming class success forces move to bigger venue in Hunstanton

Slimming World consultant Jo Jackson has had such an overwhelming response to her classes set up in Heacham this month that she has outgrown the venue and needs to move.

Jo, who began her classes at the beginning of January in the village’s Church Hall, has welcomed scores of new members in just three weeks. She said: “The success of my group at Heacham has been phenomenal and I have been blown away by the response. We have welcomed 95 new members in the first three weeks, which has been absolutely fantastic but the numbers have grown to the extent that we have outgrown the Church Hall and need to relocate.”

From Tuesday, February 4, her classes will be held at Hunstanton Community Centre, and the class times will be exactly the same, at 5.30pm and 7.30pm. “This venue will offer the capacity to cope with membership numbers and also it has the advantage of on-site car parking.” Newcomers may wish to opt for the 7.30pm session as this quieter and has fewer numbers at the moment.

Jo’s own story about her weight loss was featured in the Lynn News in December. She joined a Slimming World class at Gaywood in 2011 after feeling unhappy with her body weight and then reached her target weight of 8 stones 9lb in a matter of months.

“Since losing weight my confidence soared and I have achieved many things that I would never have dreamed of, such as taking part in the London Moonwalk in 2012 raising almost £1,000 for Breast Cancer,” she said. “Having maintained my weight loss for two years now, Slimming World became a way of life.”
