Norfolk-born Leila Hipkin has realised her ambition of running her own business at the tender age of twenty-two.
Having spent several weeks renovating a small bedroom, with the help of her partner Martin Smith, the London-trained beautician has opened a treatment room, Beaute, above Thornham Deli, which is next to the village hall.
Said Leila, who lives in Thornham: “I have worked at Thornham Deli for two years and Annelli Taylor, the owner, offered me the opportunity to take the room on for a beauty business. I have had the room open since February and day-by-day I have been getting more inquiries from clients.
“I am offering really popular treatments like eyelash extensions, waxing, tinting and nails. Clients are able to have some breakfast, coffee and cake or lunch at the Deli and parking is really easy.
“Martin has been an absolute star helping me get everything ready between his training for a London to Paris bike ride in July.”
He is doing the bike ride from July 2 to 6 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Research and has already been busy clocking up hundreds of miles in training. He can be sponsored by going to justgiving.com/martin-smith71
Beaute is open 9am-5pm Monday to Wednesday, 10am-7pm on Thursdays, and 9am-5pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
