Fashion and food ventures by two enterprising businesswomen are giving a new lease of life to the centre of a small West Norfolk village.
Cheryl Daubney, of Allez Chic, and Susan Foyers, of Foyers Tea Room, welcomed West Norfolk borough mayor, Elizabeth Watson, on Saturday, for a civic launch at their premises overlooking The Green at East Rudham.
Susan had been looking for another business to share the building and Cheryl jumped at the chance of moving in.
“It is a lovely setting and hopefully the two businesses will complement each other,” she said.
At Allez Chic she sells a mix of smart day wear and some cocktail dresses with British and Scandinavian labels, Italian handbags and a selection of scarves, jewellery and accessories.
“I aim to offer clothes that are top quality but at affordable prices – products that are a bit unusual and not likely to be found on the high street,” she said.
Next door, Susan provides light lunches, teas, scones, cakes and pastries.
The Mayor wished them both well and said that is was good news for the village and would raise its profile and attract customers and visitors.
Both businesses are open from 10am to 4.30pm from Tuesaday to Saturday.
