After two years of planning and organising, Clare Clarke, of Snettisham has achieved her dream of setting up her own cattery business.

And in the short time since it opened two months ago, Clare’s Cattery at 20 Beach Road, has already taken off with the Christmas season almost fully booked.

“Owning my own cattery has been a dream for many years. I couldn’t have done it without the help and support of my partner, Tim, and the many friends and contractors, who pulled out all the stops to get this project up and running.

“I can’t keep out of the cattery – stroking and talking to my guests is a dream job. I don’t even mind the hard work that accompanies it, such as dealing with the litter trays, cleaning and disinfecting, washing and mopping – all essential to running a healthy cattery.

“My first guest came only hours after I was granted my license, and has already been for his second short break, and summer vacation. I have bookings for next year, and there’s almost never a day passes without an enquiry or a visit from someone looking for a place for their cat.”

Fussy eaters are catered for with a wide selection of food or owners can bring their own pet’s food.

Clare, who was a fosterer for the Cat’s Protection for several years and kept her own rescue and stray cats, has a licence allowing her to keep up to 22 cats.

She welcomes visits but asks that people contact her in advance. She can be contacted on 07887911957, 01485 540383 or for more details visit the website www.clarescattery.co.uk
