New crafts market to open at King’s Lynn’s Hanse House

A new indoor crafts market is being set up at Lynn’s Hanse House by a husband-and-wife team.

Alan and Anne Chaplin hope that the new venture will not only showcase the work of local craftspeople but will also attract more visitors to the South Quay area.

“The crafts market will be in the same area where the indoor market used to be held. We shall be offering craftspeople the chance to pay £12 for the day’s rent of a table. It will give people the opportunity to have somewhere to sell their goods and also it will be of interest to shoppers in town who will find different things each time they visit as the tables will be constantly changing every day,” said Alan.

“We would welcome all kinds of crafts, which have been made by the seller. It could be anything from food, including cakes, jams and bread, to knitting, cards, jewellery, or art.”

Anne herself is a keen knitter and makes baby’s clothing, although she won’t necessarily have a stand in the market.

The couple have other business interests, including providing inventory condition reports for letting agents throughout Norfolk and Suffolk.

Anyone interested in renting a stall at the market, which is due to open imminently, or who wants to find out more can call Anne on 07843223430.
