Brothers Darran and Leigh Gould, who together have more than 40 years experience of cutting hair, have set up their first barbers’ shop together in Gaywood.
They feel that the location has plenty of potential and is convenient for many people who live in the surrounding area.
“Both Leigh and I have worked in the town centre for 20 years each, but we felt now was the right time to branch out and set up on own,” said Darran.
“We feel that Gaywood is an ideal place for business, one of the reasons being that there are schoolchildren who might be passing and call in for a cut on their way to and from school. Mothers can do their shopping at Tesco while their boys have a cut.”
Free parking is available at the front of the shop, at 3 Gaywood Court which is opposite the White Horse pub, and also in the nearby car park at Gaywood Library.
The shop is open from 6am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 5.30am to 3pm on Saturdays. “We are usually busy first thing in the morning and often get people who want a cut before work, or who may be coming off a shift,” said Darran.
All ages are welcome, from children to pensioners and Darran and Leigh will be in shop every day from opening to closing time. They are also looking for an experienced barber to join their team.
