The ambition to set up her own business has led to a positive start in the property lettings trade for Rosie Hikins, who works from her home in Watlington.

Norfolk Lettings Ltd, an independent letting agency which aims to provide landlords with a complete management service, is already taking off. “I have got many new customers and the business is beginning to build nicely,” said Rosie, who used to work in human resources for many years.

She and her partner, Kevin Miller, moved to Norfolk from the Midlands nine years ago and Kevin has many years’ experience in letting and managing property in the county,

“When I moved to this lovely area with Kevin, I automatically continued to work in a role well known to myself. My background is in human resources and I continued doing this for seven years, but decided more recently that I wanted a change and wanted to work for myself.

“Having helped with my partner’s properties over the years I have gained a great amount of knowledge, and when a couple of friends asked me to manage their properties for them, starting a letting agency seemed a sensible thing to do.

“It is not my intention to grow into a large company. I just want to earn an acceptable living and keep the business at a level where I can give the utmost attention to detail to each and every landlord’s property.

Rosie is concentraing her business in North West Norfolk. “I offer extremely competitive, if not the most competitive, prices in the local area as I don’t have the overheads of a costly High Street office. I operate from a fully-equipped home office and work flexible hours to meet my landlords’ requirements. Along with keen prices I also offer a discounted rate for portfolios.”

Letting and managing properties is her sole focus and she does not sell houses or mortgages so that she can concentrate on providing quality service to each individual landlord.
