Postive feedback to automated service at Lynn’s High Street Barclays branch

Lynn’s High Street branch of Barclays bank has undergone a major refit giving customers a new experience in banking.

The desks manned by staff have been replaced by fully automated service points where customers, with guidance by staff if required, can complete all transactions themselves. There is still a manned desk in operation if people prefer to use this rather than the machines.

Barclays says that the new style of banking has been well-received by customers and more jobs have been created at the branch as a result.

A Barclays spokesperson said: “The innovative new style branch at Lynn provides a new banking experience, hosting new technology to allow customers to carry out regular transactions such as paying in cash and cheques, paying bills, withdrawing and transferring money.

“Feedback from customers has been very positive. We have recruited two new colleagues at the branch and they are on hand along with other colleagues to assist customers to undertake their everyday transactions.

“The new technology will provide additional time to support customers who have more complex banking requirements.”
