One of Fraser Dawnbarns long-serving solicitors has taken over the role of senior partner.

Colin Bailey has handed over the position of senior partner to John Aitken. They have both worked for the same firm since the 1970s, amassing over 80 years experience between them.

When they joined the firm, then known as Dawbarn, Barr & Knowles, Colin was an articled clerk and John was already a qualified solicitor, and both worked at the firm’s office in Wisbech.

After years of growth and several mergers, the firm of Fraser Dawbarns LLP is one of the largest firms in the West Norfolk and North Cambridgeshire region, having nearly 50 practising lawyers, with offices in Lynn, Wisbech, Downham and March.

Colin has been senior partner for the last five years, and although he is continuing as a full-time partner with the firm, he has decided to end his tenure in the senior role capacity. John was elected unanimously by the members of the firm as his successor.

They both work in the firm’s commercial department, specialising in commercial property work.

Johnsaid: “I was delighted to have been asked to lead such a fine team of lawyers and excellent support staff at this exciting time for Fraser Dawbarns LLP”.
