Ideas about how Swaffham could shape up in the long-term future is one of the items on the agenda of a major exhibition being organised by Swaffham Business Forum.
The event called Start, Sustain, Grow is aimed at local businesses of all ages and sizes, from new starters, those striving to survive challenges affecting their business and those which are established but have visions of growth.
As many local businesses as possible are being encouraged to take part and make use of the opportunity to showcase their own products, make new contacts and increase business-to-business referrals. The event is not limited only to businesses and anyone with an interest in the town is welcome to go along.
Swaffham Business Forum will be presenting its views about the town’s future in a 2020 Vision presentation. Vice-chairman of the forum, Gemma Leman-Bunkall said: “Our ambitious vision for the next 15 years incorporates multiple improvements for the business community and local residents.
“Whilst taking the view of ‘adapt to survive’ as a key element in our thinking, we want to reconnect some the key historical and architectural buildings of our beautiful town centre to help ensure that Swaffham has a future to be proud of.
“This is not a quick fix for the town. There are numerous hurdles. Our exhibition is one of the first opportunities that we have to set out our 2020 Vision for Swaffham.”
The exhibition, which takes place at the Green Britain Centre on Monday, October 14, includes several other presentations including ones by Breckland District Council on business support through grants and another by Norfolk and Waveney Enterprise Services on marketing and small enterprise support.
Businesses who attend will have the chance to join the Swaffham Business Forum, which is affiliated with the Norfolk Chamber of Trade and visit business- related seminars and talks running alongside the exhibition.
The event opens at 1pm and runs until 7pm. Businesses interested in booking stands should email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Gemma on 07951658804.
