The White Horse in Brancaster Staithe has been awarded a César by The Good Hotel Guide and has been named Norfolk Hotel of the year 2014.
A César is awarded by The Good Hotel Guide to their choice of the ten best hotels of the year countrywide and are likened to the Oscars of hotel keeping.
The Good Hotel Guide is renowned as being the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain and Ireland; entry is based on visits by ‘anonymous’ inspectors and guests experiences.
The editor, Desmond Balmer, said: “The White Horse is a lovely hotel with a relaxing ambience, friendly staff and good management. The modern cooking of the freshest ingredients – perhaps Cyril’s mussels harvested at the bottom of the garden – is delicious. There is a happy atmosphere in the bar and restaurant; the bedrooms have an appropriate seaside feel.”
James Nye, managing director of The White Horse, commented: “It is a huge honour to be named Norfolk Hotel of the Year and even more so to have received national recognition with a César.
“This is ultimate recognition for the years of hard work from the team at The White Horse and I can’t thank staff enough for their contribution and to our guests who submit reports. ”
