After almost 30 years at long-established Gaywood shop Debs Florist, owner Theresa Macey has decided to sell the business.

But she will still keep her hand in as she is set to return on a part-time basis to work with the new proprietors.

Said Theresa: “I’m not retiring, but have family commitments which is why I am taking time out and then I’m coming back to work here for the new owners. I love my job and love serving our customers. Everything is staying the same, such as the business name and the staff are unaffected and will continue to work here. It’s all fallen into place. I would like to thank all my customers for their support over the years and hope that they continue to come along to the shop.”

Theresa started as an assistant at the shop in 1989 and took over the business in 1997. She said: “I have lots of happy memories here, it’s been half of my life. There’s also a bit of my late dad here as he helped me buy into it.

“It’s a very well known shop which has been in Gaywood for many years. Nowadays it is much easier to order the flowers thanks to the internet because we can order them for delivery next day.” MLNF17AF03274
