A Dersingham-based finance business staged its first corporate golf day last week to raise funds for The Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House.

Allen Tomas & Co Financial Management, of 6 St Nicholas Court, invited teams from other businesses to take part in the event held at Heacham Manor.

The four competing teams, who regularly refer business to each other, were Allen Tomas & Co Financial Management, Burrell’s Accountants, Hawkins Ryan Solicitors and James Johnson & Co Accountancy.

The eventual winners of the team trophy were Allen Tomas & Co Financial Management made up of Ben Allen, Richard Caney, Tom McEwan and Mark Jenner.

The individual awards went to Will Sheerin, of Hawkins Ryan Solicitors, for the longest drive of the day, and Pete Green, from Burrell’s Accountancy, and Andrew Stevenson, of Hawkins Ryan Solicitors, for nearest the pin.

Mr Allen, the principal of Allen Tomas & Co Financial Management, said: “We had great weather and a fantastic day. Many thanks go to Heacham Manor for helping to organise the event, Mark Jenner, from Canada Life, for donating prizes and to all the companies involved, who helped raise money for The Norfolk Hospice, a local charity in which we all believe strongly.

“Due to the nature of our own business, which provides independent financial advice in the areas of trusts, pensions, investments and long term care, we completely understand how important their services are. We are planning to run this event annually and will look to include a few more local businesses next year.”
