Textile artist Anita O’Neill has just qualified to teach a new and exciting medium at her Eau Brink Studio, Tilney All Saints, which allows items to be upcycled – and people’s imagination to run away with them.

She has become a certified tutor for teaching people how to use Powertex, a product which is similar to paint, which can be used to soak fabrics, which are then draped and manipulated around objects to create new shapes and structures. She said: “After a few weeks it sets hard and becomes weatherproof. Colours can be added, such as ivory or bronze, and powder pigments.” She received her accreditation after attending an intensive two-day course and is only one of two people in the PE postcode area who is a certified Powertex tutor. She will be holding an introductory workshop on August 30 with a follow-on one on September 10. For details call the studio on 01553 762115.
