A Swaffham-based company has added extra sparkle to its Sequin Art business by recruiting new key members to its team to continue expansion of its markets.

Kitfix Swallow Group Ltd (KSG), on Castleacre Road, has welcomed new in-house creative director, Norman Pearce and marketing manager, Clare Britton.

Norman, who has produced Sequin Art designs for KSG for more than 20 years, has taken up his post after previously working at Norwich-based design company Pencil Point Ltd.

He will be responsible for the creation of new Sequin Art products and packaging designs ensuring that the company delivers exciting and fresh concepts that will keep Sequin Art as a front runner within the crafts market.

He said: “Having worked with KSG, and in particular their Sequin Art brand, to produce their designs for a number of years, it was a natural progression to come on board directly once the opportunity came up. New designs are being thought up and produced continuously which makes it an exciting time for KSG and their customers.”

Clare will be responsible for the ongoing marketing and promotion of Sequin Art as the company continues to expand its ranges throughout the UK, Europe, America and beyond. She said: “Having worked on client side marketing previously, I’m really looking forward to knuckling down and being able to help KSG push the Sequin Art brand forward.

“KSG produce so many other craft products, as well as Sequin Art, it makes it a really diverse company to work for in terms of marketing opportunities for the brand. It’s great finding such a refreshing company in Norfolk, plus, what girl doesn’t like a bit of sparkle?”

Director, Stephen Ducker said: “This is a really exciting time for KSG and Sequin Art. Having Norman and Clare on board shows that we’re keen to build on the position we’ve established within the craft market and, with the economy as it’s been, the fact that we are expanding shows what a strong position we are in as we move through 2014.”

Sequin Art is currently available through major retailers, Toys R Us, Hobbycraft, Jarrolds and Toymaster, as well as independent stores.

It consists of brightly coloured sequins, pins, flocked board and a polystyrene frame. Initially Sequin Art was considered more suitable for children, but adults became interested in the product thus creating a new market within the craft industry.

Its popularity has reached many European countries with France, Germany, and Russia and has achieved further success in countries such as the USA and Australia.
