A leading supplier of garden products, which has its distribution centre in Lynn, is joining forces with the Royal British Legion in a bid to raise £200,000 for the charity.
Following the huge success of the RBL’s poppy display at the Tower of London in 2014, Gardman Wild Bird Care has launched an official RBL poppy bird feeder.
The feeder is in the iconic design of the red poppy and is being sold alongside RBL branded Wild Bird Seed Blend. Gardman, which has production, packaging and distribution facilities at Hamlin Way, Hardwick Narrows Estate, will donate 50p from every sale of the feeder, which retail at £6.99, a further 50p from the sale of a 1.8kg pack of bird feed and £1.50 for a pack of 12.55kg.
The fundraising products are now being sold at garden centres nationwide, including West Norfolk’s Fakenham Garden Centre, Thaxters at Dersingham and The General Store at Ringstead.
Gavin White, consumer brand manager at Gardman Wild Bird Care, said: “The poppy is an iconic symbol in relation to our Armed Forces and we’re proud to be partnering with the RBL. We hope we can make a real difference to the Armed Forces community and their families with the donations raised. We hope the feeder will encourage even more people to feed the birds.”
