An investment in a giant TV screen by Wests group at its base in Lynn’s Scania Way has proved to be an eyecatching success.
The screen, which measures two metres by one-and-a-half, was installed earlier this month and is due to be in place through to September’s plate change.
Chris Sims, marketing manager for Wests group, said: “I decided to utilise the site and space we had outside by renting the display screen for six weeks on the understanding that if it proves successful we would extend the rental.
“I wanted to make everyone who sees it aware that we are still here and we are still offering great service and deals to our customers and I think that this display achieves that message. It certainly catches the eye and at night it really looks impressive.
“The reaction we have had so far has been excellent. In just a few days we have had comments from customers being like ‘a moth to a flame’ and they all agree that at night it really comes to life and makes a noticeable difference.
“Some have simply said that they didn’t know they could get a car for just £99 a month, so it has been worth reminding people that a new car purchase doesn’t have to cost the world.”
Wests can update adverts as many times as it wants, and the ads are all created in house.
“The total cost of the screen was £3,350 for six weeks, which I think to get our message to all the people who use the road outside the dealership is a great price,” said Mr Sims.
“We are letting people know that coming from small beginnings, we have really grown as a family-run business into one of East Anglia’s most trusted local dealers and I think that when looking at our site, that message is really prominent.”
