After taking part in a fun competition at the new Hyundai dealership in Lynn, winner Cherie Wild, has a year’s free driving ahead of her in a Hyundai hatchback.

Cherie, from Little Dunham, is now the proud driver of a new Hyundai i10, which is hers for the next 12 months with full insurance included.

She won a contest, Hands Off My Hyundai, which was run in association with radio station KL.FM. People were invited to enter the competition first online and then six finalists were drawn at random.

Their challenge was to visit the new Hyundai dealership just opened by Read Motor Group in Scania Way, stand around the car and keep their hands on the i10 for as along as they could. Cherie was the eventual winner, lasting from around 9.30am to 5pm.

Mike Read, who is managing director of the Read Motor Group, said: “Apart from scheduled comfort breaks, the idea was for people to keep their hands on the car for as long as possible. Radio presenter Simon Rowe came along and his interviews were broadcast. It was extremely good fun and there was a real buzz in the showroom.”

Mr Read said that since the opening two weeks ago, there had been a positive reaction to the new dealership. He said: “It has been very encouraging and what’s really pleasing is that Hyundai owners have been coming in and thanking us for opening in Lynn. It means they no longer have to travel 40 minutes or an hour to get a Hyundai service.”
