The importance of King’s Lynn Port to the region, along with those in Ipswich and Lowestoft, will be highlighted at a business breakfast meeting at Knights Hill Hotel.

Alastair MacFarlane, port manager, East Anglia, at Associated British Ports (ABP), will be giving the talk at the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce’s event, which takes place on Friday, May 8, 8am-10am.

He has been the port manager of the three ports for nine years, and previously held several senior management positions with ABP in East Anglia, Scotland and the West Country for more than 20 years.

Prior to working for the port industry, he was deck officer in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service, serving on a number of ships in locations from the North Atlantic to the Middle East and the Falkland Islands.
