With help from a hairdressing business in Old Hunstanton, widower Kelvin Waplington “Braved the Shave” to raise hundreds of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support. His locks were cut and shaved by his daughter, Lily, 9, and Hannah Farthing, who runs The Old School House Hair Company. Kelvin, of Thornham, lost his late wife, Nichola, in May. He said: “Macmillan were hugely supportive. They took the rough edges off a journey.” The money raised from sponsorship and proceeds from cake sales and a raffle at a coffee morning held at the salon has together raised £608.
