Lynn’s Marmaris Turkish Restaurant has stepped forward to back our Lynn News Help Our Hospice Appeal by making a generous donation of £100.
The restaurant, based at Southgates, is the latest donor to contribute to the appeal which aims to raise £25,000 in order to completely fit out one of the in-patient rooms at Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House at Hillington.
Said Marmaris owner, Celal Kara: “We wanted to help because we know that this is a very good cause in the community. These facilities at the hospice are important.”
On Friday he handed over the cheque to Emily Hemsworth, of Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House, at his restaurant, which serves traditional Turkish cuisine including mezza dishes, grilled fish, Turkish pizza and desserts.
n If your business wants to make a donation to the appeal or if you’re planning a fundraiser, please get in touch and we can organise publicity for you - and send a photographer to cover your event on the day,
It’s an opportunity for businesses, groups, clubs and individuals to give a shout out for what they are doing to help this vital service in the community – and to have plenty of fun along the way.
Whether it’s a coffee morning, cake stall, bingo, quiz, sponsored event or a collection, we are waiting to hear from you.
To date we still need just over £6,000 to meet our goal with every penny being spent on the in-patient room.
The best possible facilities will be provided for patients and visitors in the room, including specialist equipment and furnishings.
The equipment needed includes a specialist bed, hoist system, mattresses, en-suite facility, nurse call system, syringe driver, piped oxygen system, bedding, TV and technology, including Wi-Fi, furniture and soft furnishings.
Each room will have a patio overlooking surrounding countryside and a power supply will be installed here for the bed and oxygen.
You will get full support from the fundraising office at Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House at Hillington.
