Proprietor of the shop Mother Butterfly, Sarah Parry, has resettled her business in Heacham having been based in Lynn’s London Road for nearly two years.
The relocation to premises at 12 Station Road is something of a return to her roots in this part of West Norfolk, having grown up in Snettisham and attended school in Dersingham, where she now lives.
She first opened Mother Butterfly in Lynn in 2014, which she dedicated to her mother, Sue, who died of cancer the previous year. She was a great fan of butterflies hence the shop’s name. Originally the plan had been for Sarah and Sue to run the business together.
Sarah, who is a mum of four girls, has completely refurbished and redecorated the Heacham shop which she opened in May. She said: “A lot of my customers from Lynn have already visited to take a look at the new shop and Heacham residents have been really welcoming.”
The shop has a rustic vintage theme and features all kinds of items including crockery, cushions, clocks and candles. But the key area of her business is furniture which she has bought, refurbished and repainted. This includes chairs, tables, chest of drawers, wardrobes, coffee tables and mirrors. “It’s mainly pine furniture and there is always a vintage theme. I source it from auctions, markets and online and then set about transforming it to give it a different look with my own personal touch.”
The shop opens 9.30am-4pm weekdays, except Thursday when it closes at 1pm, and on Saturdays from 10am-4pm. The shop can be contacted on 01485 570167.
