A nail technician from Lynn has walked away with a prestigious national accolade presented to her at an awards ceremony in London.
Scarlett Warren, who runs Nail Boutique from her home at Eastfields, Fairstead, won the Nail Artist of the Year in an awards scheme run through the nail magazine Scratch.
She, along with hundreds of others put herself forward, and then was shortlisted for the award. She had to go London and compete by designing in one hour three long nails with the theme of “the circus”.
“It was nerve-wracking, but then an interview followed which was even worse!” said Scarlett, who set up her business at the beginning of 2013.
She went to the Cafe de Paris in London for the awards ceremony on Sunday and was given her award by Channel 4 presenter Rick Edwards.
“I was absolutely gobsmacked to have won. It was so overwhelming to be chosen as nail artist of the year,” she said. “It’s my first award ever and and it’s such a huge honour to have won.
“It will lead to even more opportunities in the future. I have already had an email from a nbail company who want me to team up with them.”
Next week Scarlett is taking part in the Beauty UK exhibition at Birmingham NEC and has to design ten long nails with the theme of Royal Ascot.
