At the meeting, he shared his journey from estate agent to guest speaker at Google HQ, explaining to Lynn’s 4N members that, in his view, business success is achieved by being, “passionate and confident about what you do, and getting out of your comfort zone.”
Having attended more than 700 4N meetings across the UK, and posted 19,000 times on the business networking organisation’s web forum, Thomas explained how meeting one contact at a 4N meeting led to a lucrative contract with a major high street retailer, and another had led to his recent book deal.
“Never judge or underestimate people. Today, tomorrow or in a year’s time, those connections that you make at networking events have the potential to transform your business.”
An early social media advocate, Stefan said that he believes technology has done much to create a level playing field for small businesses, but that this
must be matched with sustained effort, which he termed as, “sweat equity”, to achieve success.
“My visit to Lynn was an eight-hour round-trip but it was fantastic to meet a number of business owners who are helping to get East Anglia on the map with a growing reputation nationally among the 4N network.
“4N founder Brad Burton will be speaking at the launch of 4N Norwich West next week, and there is a growing momentum in the area with plenty of new start-ups and established companies discovering how 4N can support their business growth.”
