New board member appointed for company with offices in King’s Lynn

The Home Counties Group (TCHC), which has an office in Lynn, has appointed a new member to its board of directors.

Lorraine Gimson’s promotion to the board coincides with her new role at the company as Employer Engagement Director and Director of Apprenticeships Suffolk Business Service (ASBS).

She joins the board having worked for over ten years within the employer engagement sector and at TCHC for ten years. She has worked in both the private and public sector.

Her passion for employer engagement started while working in further education and she has supported a variety of workforce development programmes including Skills for Life, Train to Gain and most recently ASBS. She has also lead on TCHC’s youth programmes helping young people not in employment, education or training to develop employability skills and gain vocational qualifications.

She said: “I am incredibly excited to be on the board of TCHC. This opportunity will enable me to develop new approaches to supporting local employers with developing their staff’s skills, something I feel is the lynch pin to any successful business.”

Lorraine leads a dedicated and professional team determined to support employers across the East of England.

TCHC was founded in 2004 and has provided advice and support to businesses and the community.It delivers training and general workforce development offers, including apprenticeships, study programmes and outplacement support not only to employers but to young people and adults looking to progress into employment. It is also responsible for project managing multi-million pound grants on behalf of government.
