A family run decorative supplies company has expanded into Fakenham where it has opened its tenth store.

Fakenham Mayor Jeremy Punchard cut the ribbon on Wednesday, May 6, to open the new store for East Anglian decorative supplies company Kent Blaxill.

Mr Punchard welcomed staff and customers and said: “Good luck to manager Michael Nicholls and his team, and I am sure they will have every success, particularly with the potential development of 800 new homes nearby.”

Located at Clipbush Park in Hawthorn Way, the 2,600 sq ft unit is Kent Blaxill’s tenth East Anglian store and continues the company’s expansion policy. Mr Nicholls has previously been in charge of the company’s Norwich branch.

Simon Blaxill, Kent Blaxill managing director, told guests and invited customers: “As a family run company that has been trading for 177 years, it has taken us a little while to reach Fakenham. We have had a branch in Norwich for 25 years but we believe we will be able to serve the north of the county much more effectively through our new Fakenham store.

“We are a company that believes in high levels of service and good quality products – we specialise in serving the decorating trade but we are very happy to serve members of the public as well.”

The store will stock Dulux, Crown and Armstead paint brands as well as designer paint labels Farrow & Ball, Little Greene and Paint Library, and providing a delivery service for trade customers.

Mr Nicholls said: “I feel really positive about the potential here serving the decorating trade in a thriving market town, although from the moment our doors opened we have also been getting footfall from retail customers. We are in a great easy-to-access location which can save decorators a lot of time, and are providing them with a smart and fashionable looking store.”

Working with Michael are Sam Pitcher and Katy Wright.
