Recipes passed down by a grandmother are on the menu at the Patisserie Iceni cafe which has opened in the Swaffham Community Centre.
The proprietors are Hungarian couple Zoltan and Marta Csanyi, who moved to England four years ago. They got the idea of opening a patisserie when they took part in the Iceni International Food Festival, which was part of the Norfolk Food and Drinks Festival. Zoltan, who is the chef uses his grandmother’s recipes and those from other family members. The opening of the cafe came about after extensive market research and the support of the Iceni. Dennis Tallon, who chairman of the board of the Iceni Partnership is pictured cutting the ribbon. The Patisserie will open 8am- 5pm five days a week, and caters for private teas at weekends. They will provide a Friday lunch at the Iceni Lunch club.
