Lynn’s Palm Paper has celebrated a significant production milestone by presenting £2,000 to East Anglian Children’s Hospice.
In January one of the facotry’s huge paper machines – affectionately called Lynn PM7 – produced its two millionth tonne of newsprint.
And the achievement was all the more remarkable because it took 12 per cent less time than it took to produce its first million tonnes.
The improvement on time is down to the papermakers and operators gaining experience to achieve even better results.
Lynn PM7 is known to be one of the fastest newsprint machines in the world, running with a target speed of just over 75 miles per hour.
