Pets at Home, which has a store in Lynn’s Campbells Meadow, is introducing “pet-ernity” leave for employees who will be entitled to a day’s paid leave when they welcome a new dog, cat or horse into their family.

The scheme to be launched in April is one of a range of new benefits for employees, aiming to improve a work and home life balance.

Other new benefits for employees are “New Roost Leave” offering an additional day’s leave for colleagues when they move house and “Flying the Nest Leave” for parents who have children moving out of home for the first time, such as to go to university or to their first accommodation. The company’s chief executive Ian Kellett said the company wanted to offer support at key times in colleagues’ lives.
