Successful King’s Lynn fitness company to expand into Downham Market

Have your say

A fitness phenomenon which has taken West Norfolk by storm is celebrating a year in business with news it will be expanding once again.

Motiv8 Health and Fitness has grown from holding one exercise class a week in Lynn to 13 across Lynn and Wisbech, and the number of people attending them from ten to up to 150 in just one night.

Now the company is expanding once again, with plans to start holding classes in Downham in the next few weeks.

The business was launched late last summer when founder and lead trainer Mark Flowers left a life as a weapons engineer and physical trainer in the Navy to introduce a mililtary-style fitness to West Norfolk.

“My aim was to ensure everybody of all abilities, shapes sizes and ages was motivated to achieve their goals,” he said.

The former boxer started offering a personal trainer service to clients, and held a military-style bootcamp class in The Walks on Saturday mornings.

Now he holds morning and evening classes every day of the week except Sundays, with classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings being split across two separate sessions to cope with demand.

Classes include Metafit, which is high intensity interval training; boxing-based Hiit Fit, the original Bootcamp, and the recently-added Buggy Bootcamp, where mums and dads can work out with their babies.

Mark also runs a six-week programmes, where people can attend four classes in Lynn or Wisbech for £59.99 – working out at just £2.50 a class – or unlimited classes for £69.99.

The next six week programme starts in Lynn tomorrow but you will have to be quick if you want to secure one of the final spaces.

Since its launch, Motiv8 has seen numerous success stories and testimonials, with members losing weight, getting fitter and gaining muscle.

Many people who started at Motiv8 unable to run for five minutes go on to be able to complete events such as Insane Terrain, a muddy 10k obstacle race, which members took part in in June and once again last week.

Motiv8 members will also be taking part in next Insane Terrain at Doddington, near March, Cambridgeshire, in September in aid of local military charity Bridge for Heroes.
