The Hoste at Burnham Market is celebrating its best ever rating for food hygiene having achieved the maximum grade.
Five out of five has been given since an inspection took place in the £150,000 new kitchen. The grade follows on from a one out of five rating which was given just over three months ago by an inspector from West Norfolk Council.
“At that time we had not completed the transition into our new kitchen, which has had a complete refit,” said co-owner Brendan Hopkins. “This is the first time we have had a top rating and it’s a great credit to the staff and also down to the investment made. We are determined to keep it.”
The new kitchen was installed in the last two months and features hi-tech applicances enabling top quality food to be prepared and served even more efficiently.
“Anyone who wants to come and dine is welcome to inspect the new kitchen and see some of the latest technology around,” said Mr Hopkins.
The Hoste which has seen a £2 million redevelopment since Mr Hopkins and his wife, Bee, bought it in 2012, is off to a strong start in the holiday season. “The season has started well and and we are seeing a strong trading period,” said Mr Hopkins.
