Downham Town Council organised the event to raise awareness of the volunteering opportunities and organisations in the area.

A total of 29 groups set out stands, including the University of the Third Age, Downham Market and District Heritage Society along with Downham Amateur Dramatic Society (DADS).

The town’s Brownies were also selling refreshments.

Downham town councillor Pam Sharp was also manning a stall to encourage more people to become councillors.

She said: “It was a very successful. The footfall was up on last year and everyone seemed very happy with the event.”
