Christopher Rush from Snettisham took the top prize in this year’s photo competition organised by the Hunstanton and District Festival of Arts.

“His image of Sandringham Woods was technically the best”, said judge Vivien Young. “And his picture is not only the image for February but also the cover of the calendar that has been created from all of the winning entries.

“The standard was very high this year and it was a difficult job narrowing the field down to just 12 images.”

Mr Rush said: “I like taking pictures of landscapes and since I retired I’ve been able to spend more time on my hobby so I’m very happy to have won.”

Winning photographers for the remaining months were: Colin Gomer (January), Daniel McLean (March), Karen Cann (April), Andy Hughes (May), Christopher Ward (June), Fred Holland (July), Madison Rivetti, the youngest winner in the competition at just 12 with her image of her sister leaping on the beach at Titchwell Bird Reserve (August), Sonia Jones (September), Stephen Andrews (October), Paula Cooper (November) and Stephen Johnson (December).

The calendar is now on sale at Hunstanton Tourist Information Centre at £5.99.
