Charity runners are being encouraged to put their best foot forward and take part in Lynn’s Sport Relief Mile when it comes to town next month.

Entries are now being taken for the event, which is being held at Lynnsport on Sunday, March 23, as part of a nationwide weekend of activities which aims to raise millions of pounds for good causes in Britain and abroad.

David Pope, West Norfolk Council’s cabinet member for assets, said: “This is the third time the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile has come to Lynnsport so I hope people will get training and show what we can do in King’s Lynn.

“Last time, our event raised over £1,500 and we would like more of you involved to get that total even higher; so don’t forget to rope in your mates, family, partner and colleagues too.”

This time, participants will have the choice of completing three distances, either one, three or six miles. The event will start with a warm-up at 9.30am before the races themselves begin at 10am.

Entry fees are £6 for adults and £3 for under 16s. A family ticket, for two adults and two children, is also available for £15.

Sport Relief Mile events are also taking place on March 23 in Downham and Swaffham.

The Downham event is being hosted by the town council and will take place at the Jubilee community centre from 11am.

The Swaffham mile is being held at the town’s rugby club on North Pickenham Road and will start at 1pm.

Entries for all of the area’s miles can now be submitted online at
