A teenager from Downham has been elected as member of Youth Parliament to represent South West Norfolk.
Cameron Leitch, 17, who is a student at Downham Market Sixth Form, was elected to his post with 2,398 votes in March.
Cameron said: “I represent all 11- to 18-year-olds in the area. I aim to work with the other eight Norfolk MYPs to make an impact on the community with focus on issues such as mental health and increasing political awareness.
“We hope to get every secondary school in Norfolk signed up to the Make Your Mark campaign so that you vote on issues concering you.”
Since elected, Cameron has attended various meetings at Norfolk County Council.
He added: “If anyone has any issues, please do not hesitate to contact me. I’m here to help you!”
